Taipei, Taiwan, November 27, 2000 - DataFab Systems Inc. today announced the patent of IEEE 1394 flash card readers/writers was granted by Japanese Patent Office ( Patent Number: 3074562 ). The patent granted addresses the creativity of its design and newer technology capability in flash card adapter through IEEE 1394 port of DataFab Systems Inc. This is the seventeenth patent in addition to other sixteenth related to flash card adapter technology, which has been secured in many countries. With this patent, DataFab and its worldwide distributors gain strong protection and advantage for its IEEE 1394 flash card reader/writer products which have been selling in the market. Expect Japanese Patent, there are more other patents for these models, which are pending in several countries now.
IEEE 1394 interface names as FireWire by Apple computer features high speed transfer rate at 100, 200 and 400Mbps, hot swapping capability, peer to peer communication and daisy chained which can accept up to 63 devices connected simultaneously. The idea of IEEE 1394 standard is all other devices and peripherals that connected outside of PC can simple plug into 1394 port instead of opening case and adding a circuit board.
